Remake of the classic Atari game, Breakout/Arkanoid.
About
Project created for my first year Entertainment Software Development module. The task was to recreate Breakout, and eventually turn it into a game of Arkanoid with gems that occasionally fall down from the top of the screen.
The main goal of the project was to make proper use of Object Orientated Programming to develop a game instead of solely relying on functions to make it work.
Controls
Enter - Start game
A, D - Move paddle
Known bugs / issues
- Ball sometimes gets stuck on the side of the game screen due to collisions
- Ball always bounces off the paddle in the same way, instead of altering angle
- Gems spawn in a predictable way
Download
Install instructions
Download the zip file and decompress.
Place both the .exe and the .dat in the same folder.
Click on the executable to start the game.
Warning: Due to "not being commonly downloaded", computer may pop up with a warning during download
