Solo open world project, streaming data to load and unload chunks.
About
Project created for my final year Advanced Technologies module, creating an open world project where data is streamed to load and unload objects.
JSON files were primarily used for chunk data, including the tiles, objects, collectibles and enemies, and raw files were used for height mapping.
To showcase the project, it has been turned into a quick game about collecting coins while avoiding enemies who chase the player upon entering their range and line of sight
Controls
W, A, S, D - Movement
Shift - Sprint
Space - Jump
Known issues - Optimisation/Frame rate
As a result of the heightmaps, loading in new chunks with mountainous terrain will cause some lag.
